Why An Annual Animal-Friendly Giving Guide?

After 2009 Kind Choices will require organizations to resubmit their Test of Animal-Friendliness every year to remain in the Animal-Friendly Giving Guide. We will do this for the following reasons.

To encourage more organizations to take the Test
Some organizations may not be convinced of the value of being in the guide and may be reluctant to give up lucrative sponsorships by animal-abusing companies. An organization can take the test knowing that they can decide not to be part of the Animal-Friendly Giving Guide the following year by simply not resubmitting their Test.

To allow for revisions of the Test
Kind Choices plans to continually revise the Test of Animal-Friendliness to ensure that it is a meaningful and fair standard by which to grade organizations. In the last few months of each year, revisions will be suspended and Kind Choices will begin to accept Tests for the following year. This will ensure that all organizations in the guide meet a recent revision of the Test.

To ensure accurate information
Organizations change and dissolve all the time. Requiring organizations to resubmit their Test each year allows Kind Choices a means of updating an organization's information and removing defunct organizations from the Guide.
