Kind Choices needs people to invite regional or local nonprofit organizations in their area to apply for inclusion in the Animal-Friendly Giving Guide by taking the Test of Animal-Friendliness. If an organization needs to make any changes to pass the test, like offering vegan options at fundraisers, you can offer to help with that too. You don't have to contact Kind Choices to recruit organizations for the Guide, but doing so can help me to coordinate your efforts with those of other activists in your area.
Inviting a nonprofit to Take the Test of Animal-Friendliness is as simple as making a phone call or writing a letter or email to an organization and following up on it. You can invite as few or as many as you like. Just be sure that you are addressing someone with the authority to make this decision or present it to the organization's board. Explain what you're trying to do to the organization's receptionist or answering machine and you will likely reach someone who can help you or they'll reach you. If an organization is not responding to your invitation, have other people contact them as well, especially those that are members of the organization. The more people contact them, the more likely they are to listen.
Asking local, regional and state coalitions of organizations to announce the Animal-Friendly Giving Guide campaign to their members is a good way to reach many organizations at once. Peace and justice coalitions are good candidates for this approach.
